Overview of Calculator

The device comes with a calculator that has two modes:

To open the Calculator, tap
Start > Programs > Calculator.

To switch to Engineering Calculator mode, turn the device to landscape orientation. To switch to Simple Calculator mode, turn the device to portrait orientation.

Using Calculator Memory


Simple Calculator

Use the Simple Calculator to do basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. You can also work with numbers you store in the calculator memory.

Operate the calculator the same as you would a handheld calculator by touching the onscreen keys to enter numbers and perform calculations.

Using Calculator Memory


Engineering Calculator

Use the Engineering Calculator to perform more complex calculations such as square roots, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, percentages, and more. The Engineering Calculator has two displays, the formula editor and the calculation result.

 

Formula Editor
When you touch calculation function buttons, the corresponding operand or operator is displayed in the formula editor.You can continue to enter operands and operators to build the equation.

Tap the arrow key next to the formula editor display to clear the last operand or operator entered. Tap and hold the arrow key to continue clearing entries.

 

Calculation Result
The calculation result is displayed when you touch the equal (=) button. Clear the calculation result by touching the AC or C buttons.
